What types of film do you develop?
We develop 35mm, 120, 220,110 film and Advantix formats and can process Black and White, Color Negative, ECN-2 Cinema Film, and Slide/E6 film.
What’s your turn-around time?
It varies. Developing Film is a slow process which requires tailored and individualized care for each roll and image. We work in a lab type environment with tight controls on quality and a focus on providing the best possible images we can to our customers. When we send you your order received confirmation, we will include an expected turn-around time for your order.
We understand that our wold is an “insta-world”. One of the joys of film is the “wait and see” and surprise of what you might have captured. We also understand this is hard! We ask that you be patient with the process. If you are concerned you can always email info@shutterjunkies.org.
Can you develop old film?
Yes! We develop lots of old film. Old or expired film will not develop at the same quality level as new film, so expect some decay in the image quality. Here’s an article about developing old film that can help give you more information.
Can you develop Kodak Disc Film?
No, its a difficult format to work with and its age very rarely yields good results
Can you develop digital disposable cameras?
No. Those require proprietary connections and software.
How do we contact you?
Email is the best way to reach us. You can go to our Contact Us page and send us a message or email us directly at info@shutterjunkies.org
What’s your phone number so I can call you?
We no longer use the phone as a customer communication tool. While our customers are very important to us, processing film and providing the highest possible quality scans and prints is our primary focus. We still want to hear from you, but we ask that you please contact us at info@shutterjunkies.org. We recognize that many of our customers prefer asynchronous communication methods, where they can reach out to us at their convenience and receive a response when it's most convenient for them. Digital channels provide the flexibility for customers to do just that. Please allow 24-48 hours for an email response and always check your spam folder just in case!
What’s the difference between Basic, Standard, and Advanced scans?
Basic scans are affordable and perfect if you’re sharing your images online and with family and friends through text or social media. They are good for printing smaller prints, like 4x6’s and 5x7’s. Basic Scan size is 1002 x 1512.
Standard scans can be used to print larger images and are great for storing digitally as they are decent size but don’t take up a lot of space. You can print up to an 8x10 with standard scans! Standard scan size is 2005 x 3024
Advanced scans are the highest resolution and work great when printing larger sized photos as well as provide more image data if you’re going to be zooming and cropping or editing your images after you download them. Advanced Scan size is 4011 x 6048
Do you provide status updates?
We do not currently have an automated status update system. At this time we have not found a system which will accommodate the needs of our customers due to the various customizations of each order and that is also cost effective for our small business. We are continuously exploring ways to enhance our communication processes and look for the best systems to meet our customers needs.
We understand the importance of keeping our valued customers informed about the status of their orders/projects, and we appreciate your interest in receiving updates. You can email us at info@shutterjunkies.org at any time to check on your order and we will be glad to let you know how things are going!
I sent you an email, why haven’t you responded?
If we don’t respond to your email immediately please rest assured that we did NOT destroy your film and we are NOT a scam. We are a small family run lab and we strive to answer customer emails as quickly as possible. Please expect a 24 - 48 hour response time depending on your issue. Please check your spam folder for any replies or emails.
If you have not heard back from us within 48 hours and have checked your spam folder, you can reach out on Facebook or Instagram to make sure we have received your email.
The number one issue with customer communication is lack of customer name and order number in the message, please make sure to provide these details so we can assist you in a timely manner.
